» Jay-Z would consider Oasis collaboration
Jul 04, 2008 - 2:25 PM - by Lon-dona

Jay-Z has revealed he would be happy to work with British rock band Oasis if given the opportunity to collaborate.

Despite the band's songwriter Noel Gallagher blasting organizers for inviting the rapper to headline the Glastonbury festival last weekend, Jay-Z insists he's only interested in making good music.

Jay-Z said he would be happy to work with "anyone" next, "Oasis as well — it doesn't matter to me, I don't bear any grudge, it's all good. I just believe in good music and bad music, I've always said that."

The rapper said he hadn't spoken to Gallagher... [Read More]

» John Lennon: A Drummer Should Be Heard And Not Seen
Jul 02, 2008 - 6:50 AM - by Sr. Pablo Cariño
A long-lost interview with The Beatles uncovered in a garage in South London has John Lennon giving some useful advice to lonely drummers playing at the back of the stage everywhere.

The 43 year-old cassette contains the audio of an interview the Fab Four gave to Scottish TV (STV) way back in 1964.

Beatles drummer Ringo Starr was asked if he ever got lonely at the back watching his band mates perform and enjoy much of the adulation of adoring fans.

Starr explained: "I'm lucky being at the back, the other three have it worse than I do. That's where I am – a drummer should always be at the back."

That's when Lennon quickly jumps in with his joking remarks: "A drummer should... [Read More]

» Jay-Z admits nerves before headlining Glastonbury festival
Jul 01, 2008 - 5:46 PM - by Lon-dona
US rap star Jay-Z has admitted he encountered nerves ahead of his show-stopping performance at this weekend's Glastonbury music festival in Somerset, England.

The controversial rapper had faced a tidal wave of criticism from festival traditionalists who were opposed to the King of Hip Hop performing at one of the UK's more traditional rock festivals.

"It was a historic night for Glastonbury and for myself. It's the first time a hip-hop act had headlined," Jay-Z explains. "It was one of those nervous moments right before I went on, and I haven't had that feeling in a long time. In front of [100,000] people, it was this great thing."

But the critics were forced to eat their... [Read More]

» Madonna still the material girl on tour
Jun 27, 2008 - 11:59 AM - by Sr. Pablo Cariño
Madonna has quashed the tittle tattle surrounding sales of tickets to her Sticky & Sweet World Tour by announcing that over 90% have now sold out worldwide.

Live Nation, her tour promoters, released the figures after several gossip columns and prominent bloggers had suggested Madonna was struggling to sell tickets for her latest trek around the world.

But the exact opposite is true for the most successful female in the history of pop. Live Nation expects the tour to gross more than $250 million when all is said and done.
